Fair Labor Standards Act
Both Federal and Connecticut law have regulated wages and hours of employees for many years. Our experience is that employers more frequently face claims brought by the Connecticut Department of Labor (rather than the U.S. Department of Labor) and that these claims usually involve overtime, exempt vs. non-exempt workers, and proper record-keeping. We work with employers to minimize the likelihood of a successful claim by the DOL. We have worked with the Connecticut DOL regulators and our relationships with them have helped us to reach equitable resolutions of claims.
